Sunset at the volcano

So after surviving the zip lines, we trekked up the 28 miles (switchbacking) to the Haleakala crater. Sunset was magnificent...very cold at 10K+ feet but better than freezing while waiting for sunrise. When you go right from sea level up, it's high. I have tons of photos but this is one of my faves. We could see over to Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island.

Maui Surfer Girls

So this is our friend Dustin who runs the surfer girls camp and teaches surf lessons for everyone. She turned us on to the MaLa Tavern and the oyster shooters... whoa! Check out www.mauisurfergirls.com

It's all Fun

Our neighbor, Reg, who came for a visit took this photo of my honey and me at the Hana Beach Park after a verrrry winding road to get there. Sadly, we were camera-less for the heart attack-producing zip lines AND when we were approached by a huge pod of wild spinner dolphins while swimming by ourselves way out in Honolua Bay. Now we're back to what we hope will eventually be spring in Calgary but it's all fun!
